Local Franchise Company Receives Two Restaurant Neighbor Awards

Newtown, PA, December 8, 2009 – The Rose Group was recently recognized by the National Restaurant Association (NRA), the leading business association for the restaurant industry, with two awards for their outstanding community initiatives in 2008; the Maryland Mid-size Restaurant Neighbor Award and the Pennsylvania Cornerstone Humanitarian Award.

Every year, NRA recognizes outstanding restaurants around the country with their Restaurant Neighbor Award. This achievement honors restaurants and individuals that go above and beyond in community service, inspiring other restaurants to become more involved in their local communities. This past year, the Maryland Mid-Size Restaurant Neighbor Award was presented to The Rose Group for their Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation program. The Rose Group has been involved in this initiative for the past five years, raising over $1.6 million footprint wide towards pediatric research in memory of Alex Scott.

This tireless dedication would not be without the leadership of chairman and CEO, Harry T. Rose, who was honored with this year’s Pennsylvania Cornerstone Humanitarian Award for his personal commitment to serving the local community.

“Community involvement is an integral facet of our organization and it has been a priority to encourage our local neighborhoods to do the same,” said Rose. “We are thrilled to be recognized for our efforts and look forward to continue working together with the communities we serve.”

The Restaurant Neighbor Award consists of four categories for each state: small business, mid-size restaurant, national chain and humanitarian of the year. All state winners then proceed to compete with other state winners across the country for the national award of each category.
